Gourvenience – Convenience by Pros for Pros

Restaurateurs face many challenges: they have to run a profitable business and serve their guests good food. In times of staff shortages, it is often not easy to reconcile both. This is exactly where METRO steps in: It develops customised solutions to help restaurateurs meet their own needs and those of their guests. One of these solutions is the new METRO Chef Gourvenience product range and the associated holistic concept.

Preparing potatoes au gratin is not complicated, but it is time-consuming, starting with peeling potatoes.

Potatoes au gratin – not very exciting at first glance. But anyone who has ever eaten really good potatoes au gratin knows that the quality of the ingredients and craftsmanship determine whether the side dish becomes a star on the plate. Preparing potatoes au gratin is not complicated, but it is time-consuming, starting with peeling potatoes. If the kitchen is short of staff, it impacts even the more routine classics like creamy potato slices. Since September 2019, METRO Chef Gourvenience has been available as an exclusive order assortment for HoReCa (hotel, restaurant, catering) customers so that restaurateurs can maintain high quality standards even when they experience staff shortages.

As ‘ready to heat’ and ‘ready to eat’ products, gourmet dishes only have to be warmed up or thawed – then they are theoretically ready to serve. But in reality they make much more possible: they also provide the chefs with a basis so they can finish each dish with their own personal touch. As a basic framework, they give room for creativity. Gourvenience is by no means a substitute for a chef’s craft. All products of the food solution are free of preservatives, flavour enhancers, artificial flavours and artificial food colours. Only ingredients that a demanding chef would use go into the pot during production.
Gourvenience is more than just product selection – it is a holistic approach to solving the challenges of an entire industry sector.
