Terms and conditions
§ 1 Organizer and acceptance of conditions of participation
- The competition is organized by METRO AG, Metro-Straße 1, 40235 Düsseldorf, Germany (hereinafter referred to as "METRO" or "Organizer").
- By participating in the competition, the participant accepts the conditions of participation as binding.
§ 2 Prize
- The winners of this competition will receive the following prizes:
- First prize: A shopping voucher worth €200
- Prizes 2-5: A voucher worth €100
- The respective prize will be handed over exclusively by post to the winner or to the winner's legal representative. The prize cannot be exchanged or paid out in cash. The prize is not transferable to third parties. Cash payment or exchange of the prize is excluded.
§ 3 Eligibility
- All METRO customers who are permanently resident in Germany and have reached the age of 18 are eligible to participate.
- If a participant has limited legal capacity, the consent of his/her legal representative is required.
- In order to participate in the competition, it is essential that all personal details are true. The participant is responsible for the accuracy of the data provided.
- Employees of METRO and their relatives are excluded from participation, as are all persons involved in the design and implementation of the competition.
- Participation via competition bots or competition services or similar services is not permitted.
§ 4 Exclusion from the competition
- METRO reserves the right to exclude participants from the competition in the event of a breach of these conditions of participation.
- Participants who make use of unauthorized aids, otherwise obtain advantages through manipulation or attempt to do so will also be excluded. In such cases, prizes may also be subsequently disallowed and reclaimed.
- If a participant provides false personal information, this may lead to exclusion from the competition.
- If METRO subsequently determines that a participant has realized a reason leading to exclusion within the meaning of this paragraph or was not eligible to participate, METRO is entitled to subsequently deny the prize to the participant concerned and reclaim it.
§ 5 Execution and handling of the competition, prize distribution
- A person takes part in the competition by entering the required solution word on MPULSE.de and providing the necessary contact details to the organizer.
- The competition ends on August 31, 2025.
- Only one submitted entry per participant will be entered into the competition. It is prohibited to use multiple entries to increase the chances of winning.
- The winner will be drawn at the end of the competition, notified by email and the prize will then be sent by post.
- After receipt of the prize notification, the winner has 14 days to provide their address for delivery of the respective prize. After expiry of this period, the claim to the prize lapses.
- The claim to the prize or prize replacement cannot be assigned.
- Complaints relating to the execution of the competition must be sent to METRO in text form within 14 days of the reason for the complaint becoming known, stating the competition. Complaints communicated by telephone or late complaints will not be processed.
- METRO shall be released from all obligations upon handing over the prizes, unless an earlier point in time results from these regulations.
§ 6 Premature termination of the competition - subject to change
METRO reserves the right to cancel, terminate or change the competition at any time without prior notice and without giving reasons. METRO will make use of this option in particular if, for technical reasons (e.g. viruses in the computer system, manipulation, errors in the hardware and/or software, blocking of Facebook as well as abusive behavior by participants) or for legal reasons, the proper execution of the competition cannot be guaranteed. If such a termination is caused by the behavior of a participant, METRO may demand compensation from this person for the damage incurred. Changes during the competition, in particular by changing the rules of the game or reducing the prize, are not permitted. No claims can be made against the organizer in the event of a termination.
§ 7 Data protection
- METRO is responsible for the organization of the competition and the processing of personal data in this regard. METRO's data protection officer can be reached at the above contact details and at datenschutz@metro.de.
- Participants are requested to provide their first name, surname and address in order to take part in the competition and to receive any prizes. The participant is not obliged to provide METRO with his/her personal data, nor is this information required to fulfill a legal or contractual obligation or an obligation to conclude a contract. If the participant does not provide METRO with his/her personal data, this will have no consequences for the participant, except that he/she will not be able to participate in the competition. The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. b) GDPR.
- The personal data will be deleted by us after the competition has been completed. Within this period, the data will be stored for possible queries regarding the implementation of the competition.

§ 8 Warranty
- Obvious defects in the prize must be reported to METRO within 10 days of the prize being handed over. Timely dispatch of the notification is sufficient to meet the deadline.
- In all other respects, the statutory warranty provisions shall apply insofar as they are applicable. In the event of a claim for damages, the provisions of Section 9 shall apply.
§ 9 Liability
- METRO is not liable for incorrect information that is expressed and disseminated by participants and/or third parties, including any cooperation partners of METRO, and that is connected with the dissemination of information about the competition.
- METRO does not guarantee that all links and references made in the context of the competition are correct or complete.
- Furthermore, the liability of METRO and its vicarious agents for contractual breaches of duty and tort is limited to intent and gross negligence. This shall not apply in the event of injury to life, limb or health of the participant or claims for breach of cardinal obligations, i.e. obligations that arise from the nature of the contract and whose breach jeopardizes the achievement of the purpose of the contract.
- The above limitation of liability applies in particular to damage caused by errors, delays or interruptions in the transmission of data or similar, faults in the technical systems or the service, incorrect content, loss or deletion of data, viruses.
§ 10 Miscellaneous
- Legal recourse is excluded.
- The law of the Federal Republic of Germany shall apply exclusively.
- Should any of these provisions be or become invalid, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining conditions of participation.
- Deviations from these conditions of participation must be made in writing to be valid. The same applies to any waiver of the written form requirement.
- The place of performance and jurisdiction is Düsseldorf, insofar as an agreement on this is permissible. Otherwise, the domicile or place of residence of the defendant shall apply.
