Hello METRO, how does DISH Pay work?

With DISH Pay card readers, guests can make convenient and flexible cashless payments, whether in the restaurant or on the go. DISH Pay offers various options:

  • Online payment: guests receive their payment information digitally, for example via an ordering platform or by QR code. This way they pay quickly and easily without having to wait long for their bill.
  • Contactless payment: With NFC-enabled devices (“Tap to Pay”), guests can pay quickly and contactlessly with their card, smartphone or smartwatch. A quick tap on the card reader and the payment process is completed.
  • Card terminal: The mobile terminals offer flexibility for all payment methods: whether inserting, tapping or swiping the card. At classic terminals, guests can even tip directly and easily cashless, either as a percentage or as an individual amount.

One contract, one signature

Another advantage of DISH Pay: Only one digital contract is required. This covers all payment types and includes the corresponding fees for card payments. All hardware devices, whether purchased or rented, are also integrated into the offer. This means that restaurateurs can start using DISH Pay quickly and easily – without any bureaucratic hurdles. In addition, the DISH support team is on hand to answer questions and provide assistance throughout the entire operation.

Seamless integration into the POS system

DISH Pay can be seamlessly integrated into the existing DISH POS system. This means that ordering and payment processes can be combined via the card reader, which significantly simplifies work processes in the restaurant. This is because the connection between the handheld device and the counter terminal means that all online and offline payment methods are integrated directly into the DISH POS system. The DISH Pay handhelds can also be combined with existing POS systems.

Simplified accounting

DISH Pay offers regular payouts that are adapted to the needs of the business. Free SIM card

The DISH Pay mobile card reader is always ready for use, even when Wi-Fi quality fluctuates. If required, the device automatically switches to the mobile 4G network to ensure uninterrupted payments. A SIM card is included free of charge so that restaurateurs can work flexibly wherever they are.

New:  DISH Pay now

DISH Pay is already used by more than 1,500 customers in Germany, France, Italy and Spain. The new “DISH Pay now” mobile card readers for contactless payment will also be available in German METRO wholesale stores from the start of 2025. This will enable restaurateurs and other retailers to offer their customers quick and easy cashless payment - even without a connection to the DISH checkout and payment system. Customers can simply buy the small handheld devices in the METRO wholesale store and take them with them directly.
