Rina Mohsin, a passionate baker from Lahore, began her journey in the kitchen of her own home. What started out as a small home bakery to support her family in difficult times has developed into a successful business over the years. Today, Rina's Kitchenette stands for creative culinary experiences and is no longer an insider tip in Lahore. This success story shows how dedication, family support and a good instinct for trends can turn a small business into a well-known brand.
Rina, how did the idea for Rina's Kitchenette come about?
Rina's Kitchenette started as a home bakery in Lahore, founded by me to support my family in difficult times. I initially sold my cakes to friends and family. My cakes quickly became popular and helped put three children through college. In 2016, Rina's was revived as a small bakery-café after one of my children, inspired by its success, attended a cookery school and returned to grow the business further.
What role does METRO play in your success?
METRO has supported us from the very beginning, even before we became a major customer of METRO Pakistan. I still remember buying everything for our small business from the METRO store with my father. Today we are a major customer, receive excellent service from our account manager and are supplied directly to our locations.
What makes Rina's Kitchenette special?
Rina's Kitchenette has developed from a home bakery into a restaurant and catering company with four restaurant brands. The secret of its success lies in the combination of innovation and quality. Guests particularly appreciate the creative variations on classic dishes, such as the Aglio Olio with mushroom cream sauce and potato crisps, which has become a bestseller. In addition to the restaurants, we also offer catering and gift services that make the brand versatile and customer-oriented.
The Pakistani market for weddings and events is huge. Every year, consumers spend more than PKR 150 billion on weddings and related industries, of which catering is a major part. We started catering four years ago when one of our oldest clients approached us to provide food for his daughter's wedding.
Creating unforgettable culinary experiences has always been my passion. What I love most about my job is seeing the joy on our customers' faces when they taste our dishes and knowing that we have been part of their special moments, be it through our restaurant, catering or gift services.
