All Fired Up

There are only a few hours left before the start of the Bocuse d’Or – a kind of World Championship in cooking. Those who want to talk to Martino Ruggieri right now must either belong to the team of the Italian candidate. Or get in touch with him via WhatsApp – just like MPULSE did.

Transcript of the video

Hi Martino, this is MPULSE.

Hey. What’s up?

Let’s cut it short. 😉 How are you doing – a few hours before the big finale?

Very good, thanks! The Bocuse d’Or is viewed with much interest by many people. That motivates me extremely. My team and I are ready for the competition and can’t wait any longer for the final to kick off!

No question about it.

You’re representing your country on such a big stage. How high is the overall anticipation level?

…very high 😂🙈

We assume that you’re having training hours for the Bocuse d’Or in addition to your daily business!? That’s as busy as it can get … 😄

To be honest with you – I’m totally dedicated to the Bocuse competition right now. 😁 And this means that I and my team begin the day very early with a training session that lasts 5 hours and 35 minutes. ☝😇 Because that’s exactly how long the competition takes. Afterwards, my staff and I analyse each session – and if needed, we repeat the training.

Word on the street is that you receive support from METRO Italy!? 😉

Definitely 😊 METRO is providing great help. For example when it comes to specific and extraordinary ingredients for my dishes. And I can rely on their high quality – no doubt about it. 👌

Last question: What’s your take on this matter: How important is the Bocuse D’Or world final for you and your future career?

It’s a unique opportunity for me to compete with some of the best international chefs. I believe the final will surely enrich my professional journey.

Martino, we keep our fingers crossed! Best of luck! 😊✌

Thanks! 😊

The Bocuse d'Or 2019 will take place in Lyon on 29 and 30 January. Every two years, top chefs from all over the world compete for bronze, silver and gold. This year, representatives from 24 nations will be competing to prepare a starter and a main course of their choice in five hours and 35 minutes. As one of the main sponsors, METRO will exclusively supply four selected seafood ingredients and a wide range of vegetables for the 17th World Final. The 24 finalists will create a dish with the theme 'Chartreuse vegetables with shellfish'.
